As University of Colorado alumni return to campus this weekend for homecoming, they might find Boulder looks very different from the town they remember.
Why it matters: Nothing sparks nostalgia like pointing out how much things have changed since BACK IN MY DAY.
Between the lines: CU and Boulder for years have been trying to distance themselves from their early 2000s party school reputation, sometimes at the expense of student culture.
- Combined with the pandemic, the shift has meant many long-time student hangouts and staples have closed.
