Eldora ski area sets Nov. 14 opening

The snow race is underway.

State of play: The arrival of cooler air in the Colorado mountains is allowing ski resorts to make snow for the coming season.

• At least four resorts — Loveland, Arapahoe Basin, Keystone and Copper — are making the most of the below-freezing overnight temperatures.

What's next: The first resort is expected to open at the end of the month or first week of November.
