Now that it's October, farms across Boulder County are offering pumpkin patches, corn mazes and other fall activities.
Why it matters: These farms give residents a chance to enjoy the outdoors in autumn and support the local economy.

Munson Farms, 7455 Valmont Road, Boulder: Farm-fresh produce and pumpkins are available for purchase. Open daily, free admission.
Hergenreder Farms, 13332 County Road 5, Longmont: A pumpkin patch with a corn maze, bale maze, bale pyramid and corn boxes (think sandbox with corn kernels). Admission is free, and pumpkins are available for purchase. Open Thursday-Monday.
Sunflower Farm, 11150 Prospect Road, Longmont: Pick up a pumpkin, meet farm animals, and explore an old airplane, sandboxes, treehouses and John Deere tractors. Saturdays and Sundays in October. Tickets are $18.
VT Pumpkin Patch, 6401 North 107th St., Longmont: Pick out a pumpkin, take a hayride, and pose for pictures with a tractor. Open Friday-Sunday in October. Admission is free.
The Bee Hugger Farm, 12590 Ute Highway, Longmont: This sunflower and honey farm sells pumpkins in the fall. No appointment or entrance tickets required. Open daily.
Rocky Mountain Pumpkin Ranch, 9059 Ute Highway, Longmont: The pumpkin patch is open daily, with carnival activities on Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 31. Admission is free. Attractions require tickets available for purchase on-site.
Ya Ya Farm & Orchard, 6914 Ute Highway, Longmont: The U-Pick It events are sold out, but you can still visit with the farm animals, bring a picnic, and buy apples and apple products at the farm stand. Open daily, free admission.
7th Generation Farm, 1536 Courtesy Road, Louisville: Pumpkin patch entrance also includes hayrides, corn mazes, a hay mountain, animals and a farm stand. Open through Nov. 23; closed Mondays. Tickets are $15.
Anderson Farms, 6728 County Road 3 1/4, Erie: Take a wagon ride through 40 acres of pumpkin patch and explore 8 miles of corn maze. Other activities include a barrel train, hay-bale pull, kiddie corral and farm animals. Open through Nov. 1; closed Tuesdays. Tickets range from $13.50-$50.
Cottonwood Farms, 10600 Isabelle Road, Lafayette: Features a pumpkin patch plus corn and straw mazes. Wagon rides are offered on Saturdays and Sundays. The farm also sells pumpkins and fall produce. Open daily through Oct. 31. Tickets start at $10; wagon rides are an additional $5.
Rock Creek Farm, 2005 S. 112th St., Broomfield: Explore 80 acres of pumpkins, three corn mazes, a hay-bale maze and farm animals. Open through Oct. 31. Tickets are $10.
