The University of Colorado is celebrating Family Weekend starting Thursday and highlighted by the Buffs game Saturday night against Wyoming.
If you go: There are a variety of CU packages that provide different levels of unique access and perks for families starting at $35.
- Events include a Pearl Street Stampede event on Friday, a family tailgate on Saturday, and the Buffalo Stampede 5K Fun Run on Sunday.
- Of course, tickets are not necessary to just check out some family-friendly restaurants in the area.
The game: CU head coach Deion Sanders is probably wishing he could bring his son back at quarterback for family weekend.
- Ryan Staub struggled last week against Houston after replacing senior Kaidon Salter. And with freshman Julian "JuJu" Lewis in the wings, Sanders has the exact problem he wanted to avoid: a quarterback carousel.
Not a football fan or don't have family in town? We've got some other options this weekend:
🐶 All for Animals, The Humane Society of Boulder Valley: This event gives the community a chance to visit the shelter and get a behind-the-scenes look at the work being done to save animals. Tickets are $10 and the event runs from 11am-4pm Sunday.
🏡 Community Assembly, location TBD: Boulder's first Community Assembly is tasked with exploring the definition and implementation of 15-minute neighborhoods in the Boulder Valley. The event runs from 9:30am-noon and is free, but registration is required to find out the location of the event.
🪕 PorchFest!, Mapleton Hill neighborhood: Starting at noon Sunday, more than 40 bands will sprawl out across 30-plus porches for a front-yard festival of music. Food trucks will be on site. The event is free. Check online for acts and locations.
