Protesters on Wednesday gatheredat the Boulder County Courthouse to protest a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that upheld a Tennessee ban on gender-affirming care for transgender youth.
Why it matters: Though Colorado isn't one of them, roughly half the states have similar laws on the books — and more can now freely follow suit.
What they're saying: Several local speakers took to the mic during the protest.
Mardi Moore, CEO of Rocky Mountain Equality, called the ruling a "devastating moment" for trans youth.
Rep. Brianna Titone, Colorado's first openly transgender state legislator, said, "The Supreme Court has failed to protect families," but Colorado must "continue to fight back."
