Lindsey Graham calls on Trump to declare national emergency

Senator Lindsey Graham called on President Trump to "use emergency powers to fund the construction of a border wall/barrier" in a statement on Thursday.

The big picture: Graham said earlier today after meeting with congressional leaders, "I think we're stuck. I just don't see a pathway forward." Axios' Jonathan Swan has reported that invoking emergency powers was the most likely option Trump would take to break the stalemate, while Trump himself said Thursday morning that he would "probably" declare a national emergency if he couldn't strike a deal with Democrats.
