Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and the Department of Education announced the end of an Obama-era protection policy for students attending For-Profit colleges citing the goal of treating all higher education institutions "fairly," the department announced on Friday.
The details: The policy brought penalties on schools that left students in debt with few job options available. The department said the policy was unfair and that it believed data such as debt levels, expected earnings, completion rates and program costs are important to all students and not just students enrolling in for-profit institutions.
