A family ordered autopsy revealed that Stephon Clark, an unarmed black man who was killed by Sacramento police last week, was shot eight times by authorities, reports the New York Times. Most of the shots hit Clark in the back, the autopsy report said, but he was hit once in his side. The report also claims it took between three to 10 minutes for Clark to die, "raising questions about why Mr. Clark was not given more immediate medical care after the shooting," writes NYT.
Why it matters: Benjamin Crump, the Clark family attorney, said the autopsy results indicate Clark was not moving in a threatening way as officers indicated in the police report.
