The prominent advisory firm Teneo is launching a new global energy and infrastructure practice that greatly expands its work with the sector.
Why it matters: The practice, helmed by industry vets, underscores the topics' prominence.
- The expansion includes opening an office in Houston — a capital of traditional and emerging energy firms — and a new strategic partnership with the Cleantech Group.
- "Energy and infrastructure have never played a more central role in the global economy and the agendas of CEOs — or been subject to greater uncertainty and complexity," Teneo CEO Paul Keary said in a statement.
Driving the news: The new practice will work with companies in power, oil and gas, transportation and more.
- Services include strategy consulting, investor relations, government affairs, risk advising, and financial advising.
State of play: The firm also announced new hires to lead it.
- Bob Zabors will be vice chair of management consulting and head of infrastructure and innovation. Dan Gabaldon will have the same vice chair role and be head of energy.
- Both held senior roles with the firm Roland Berger, among other industry experience.
- Two senior advisers will be Eric Spiegel, who is former head of Siemens USA, and David Carroll, ex-president of GTI Energy and the International Gas Union.
The bottom line: Companies need to navigate "turbulent commercial and regulatory environments, emerging disruptive innovation, changing customer expectations and the need for more sophisticated capital markets solutions," Zabors said in a statement.
