The Republican National Committee will host its January 2020 meetings at Trump National Doral, President Trump's 800-acre golf club in Miami, an RNC spokesperson said, per the Washington Post.
Why it matters: Last month, Trump cancelled plans to host the G-7 summit at his Doral resort. Throughout his time in office, Trump has faced allegations of using his office to benefit his business.
Zoom out: The RNC has previously hosted events and fundraisers at Doral, and Trump properties have taken in more than $1.5 million from the committee since 2015, according to CNN.
Of note: Doral's net operating income dropped by 69% over two years as of May, per a Washington Post analysis. The flagship resort produces more revenue — $75 million annually — than any of the other Trump properties.
