What we know so far: Ball State University shooting

A shooting near Indiana’s Ball State University reportedly took place overnight at an off-campus party leaving 7 people injured, local NBC affiliate WTHR reports.

What they're saying: Police are saying an argument broke out among non-students at 12:45 am EST that led to the violence, however there was no immediate threat to the university's campus, reports CNN.

Details:

3 victims sustained life-threatening gunshot wounds, and 6 of the 7 victims are still being hospitalized, per the Star Press.
VaShaun Harnett allegedly shot the victims, and has been arrested for attempted murder, per the Star Press. The university confirmed Harnett is not a student.
