Deadly explosion at Afghanistan air base kills U.S. service members
An improvised explosive device outside Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan killed 3 U.S. service members and wounded 3 others, NATO Resolute Support said in a new statement Tuesday.
Details: The Taliban — with whom the U.S. is engaging in peace talks — claimed responsibility for the attack. The wounded service members were evacuated and receiving medical care, according to NATO.
The latest: In its announcement, NATO clarified an earlier statement it issued Monday to say a contractor reported to have been killed in the blast was alive.
