The FDA plans to hold a public hearing on May 31 to discuss legal marketing strategies for CBD products, as states like Texas and California are pushing bipartisan legislation against the federal ban on CBD oil-infused food and beverages, the AP reports.
Driving the news: In Congress, there is bipartisan support from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) for the FDA to approve CBD sales. FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb told Congress last week that enforcement against CBD is being limited to sellers who make false health claims, according to the AP.
