A man in London was attacked with a hammer and a "batten" outside an east London mosque hours after the New Zealand Christchurch shooting, per the Independent.
Driving the news: After 3 men drove by the mosque and called those attending prayer "terrorists," a few worshippers followed the car and were attacked, with one man sustaining head injuries from a hammer, according to police. Muslim world leaders have pointed to the Christchurch mass shooting as evidence of a rising tide of violent Islamophobia, per the Washington Post.
