Trump signs bill to officially reopen government

President Trump signed a short-term spending bill passed by both chambers of Congress to reopen the government through Feb. 15 without any additional funding for his border wall.

Why it matters: This officially ends the longest shutdown in U.S. history. Over the next three weeks, lawmakers will come together in a bipartisan, bicameral conference to negotiate possible solutions to the border impasse.
