Maj. Brent Taylor, who had taken leave from his job as mayor of North Ogden, Utah, was killed in Kabul, Afghanistan, in an apparent insider attack on Saturday, CNN reports.
Why it matters: This is the second insider attack in less than a month, following one in October that left three Afghan officials dead and U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Smiley injured. Saturday's attack appeared to come from a member of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces. The person responsible was "immediately killed by other Afghan forces," according to CNN.
