While speaking about the killing of Jamal Khashoggi, President Trump said Tuesday that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was "pretty rough" on Saudi Arabia and that Riyadh's handling of the matter was "one of the worst in the history of cover-ups" reports Reuters.

"They had a very bad original concept. It was carried out poorly, and the cover-up was one of the worst in the history of cover-ups. Very simple. Bad deal, should have never been thought of."

The details: Earlier Tuesday, Erdoğan dismissed Saudi Arabia’s efforts to blame Khashoggi's death on rogue operatives and claimed it was a planned, "savage killing." Trump explained he wants to see the facts first, though it's a "bad situation," and has sent CIA director Gina Haspel to Turkey to assist with the investigation.
