Cisco security chief David Ulevitch heads to Andreessen Horowitz
- Dan Primack, author of Axios Pro Rata
David Ulevitch has stepped down as head of Cisco's security business, in order to join venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz as a general partner.
- "This lets me get much closer to the metal of entrepreneurship," he tells Axios.
Why it matters: Ulevitch, who joined Cisco in 2015 when it bought his startup OpenDNS for $635 million, gives Andreessen Horowitz a much deeper enterprise software bench.
