FEMA head under investigation for misuse of government vehicles
Federal Emergency Management Agency administrator Brock Long is under investigation by the Department of Homeland Security's inspector general for allegedly misusing government vehicles to travel to North Carolina from Washington, Politico reports.
Why it matters: The investigation into Long brings the ethics of another administration official into question. FEMA currently has its hands full as Hurricane Florence nears landfall in North Carolina.
The details: Long used a staff driver to transport him to North Carolina at the beginning of his tenure last year and allowed aides to stay in hotels at the expense of tax payers, according to officials.
Long said he and the agency will "fully cooperate" with the investigation and "own up" to any mistakes the investigation finds that he made.
