Democrat James Thompson, who was backed by both Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders, won his primary for U.S. House in Kansas' 4th district. He will face Rep. Ron Estes this fall.
A national Democratic strategist told Axios: "[Kansas's 4th district] is objectively un-winnable ... and yet [Cortez and Sanders] can get thousands of Democrats to turn out in an arena."
