President Trump kept the door open for a possible meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on Friday night explaining they're having "very productive talks...about reinstating the Summit."
The big picture: The summit was set up to be a historic moment between the two leaders, and it's been uncertain what would happen after Trump cancelled it abruptly on Thursday. Chair of Korean Studies at Stanford University, Gi-Wook Shin, wrote at Axios: "Trump needs to show political leadership, not gamesmanship, in coordinating with key stakeholders China and South Korea if he wants to make progress with North Korea."
