Young people in six of the seven largest counties in Florida are not registering to vote at rates higher than the norm, reports the Tampa Bay Times.

Why it matters: The activism from young Floridians since the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting earlier this year hasn't translated into increased youth voter registration numbers. In fact, there were 4,500 fewer registrations from people ages 16-25 years old across those same counties compared to the last midterm elections in 2014.
