Sacramento resident Stephon Clark was shot and killed by police on Sunday after he was allegedly identified as a person breaking car windows, reports the Sacramento Bee. Officers were led to Clark's backyard where he was holding an item officers thought was a gun. After asking him to show his hands, officers fired 20 rounds at Clark, killing him. Upon searching him they found he did not have a weapon, but a cellphone.

Why you'll hear about this again: Clark's shooting is gaining national traction and could lead to more public outcry bringing attention to police shootings.
