Music streaming giant Spotify today is holding a public "investor day," which will include presentations from company executives and an audience Q&A.
- It kicked off with an announcement that Spotify will begin trading on April 3.
- CEO Daniel Ek said he doesn't plan to ring the NYSE opening bell, and that he won't be on the floor doing interviews.
Why it matters: Spotify is going public via a direct listing rather than a traditional IPO, and most of Silicon Valley and Wall Street are eager to see how it fares. This public investor day is a key first test. Watch it live, beginning at 1pm ET.
