The USA Gymnastics board is resigning, following an ultimatum from the U.S. Olympic Committee that gave them six days to do so, NBC reports.
Background: Three board members already resigned, but 18 were left. The move comes after Larry Nassar was sentenced earlier this week, and many of his victims spoke out against the board.
- One of the victims who testified, Rachael Denhollander, said on NPR: "The reality is that Larry is not the problem, Larry is the symptom of the problem. The reason Larry was able to have access to so many children for so long is because you had two major institutions who looked the other way."
