French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to announced today that the 11th century Bayeux Tapestry will be loaned to the United Kingdom for the first time.
The backstory: The tapestry depicts the Norman conquest of England, and Napoleon had it displayed in Paris in 1804 when he was planning to invade England. It may have been made in England, but has been housed in Normandy for 950 years. Extensive tests will take place before the final decision is made to move the tapestry, per the BBC.
