Democrats boycott EPA nominee vote

J. Scott Applewhite / AP

The ten Democratic senators who didn't go to the Environment and Public Works panel today said they were concerned with Scott Pruitt's avoidance of questions about his record as Oklahoma Attorney General. Tom Carper led the effort, following through on the letter he wrote to the Committee Tuesday intending to delay the vote until Pruitt follows up on questions. The committee requires a quorum to vote on nominees to pass along nominations to a full Senate vote.

This comes after along with a slew of resistance to Trump's cabinet picks, like when Dems delayed would-be Treasury Secretary Mnuchin's and would-be Education Secretary DeVos' nominations yesterday in the Finance Committee.
