Amazon is bringing Alexa to iOS so it will soon be even easier to make impulsive purchases from your iPhone.
What it does: Helps you search for products and make purchases. Streams media. Answers questions about the weather, traffic, news and other ephemera.
Why it matters: Some of Amazon's rivals in the voice assistant wars, like Apple and Microsoft, have assistant products available on iOS. It also has the added effect of exposing users to Alexa, which is the core feature of several speaker products Amazon sells.
