Richmond parks are getting permanent Pride-themed picnic tables

The big picture: The tables were built and painted last month as part of a Richmond Region Tourism team-building project with the help of Out RVA and Virginia Pride before being donated to the city.

• The city then checked in with local civic associations to see who might want them, Parks & Rec spokesperson Tamara Jenkins tells Axios.

Where they're headed, per Jenkins:

• Alice Fitz Community Garden on Perry Street in South Richmond.
• Broad Street Pollinator Park by Scott's Addition.
• Bill Robinson Park in Church Hill.
• Fonticello Park on Bainbridge Street in Swansboro.
• Midtown Green on West Leigh Street.

The bottom line: Pride Month might be ending, but the tables are here to stay.
