The number of companies that confidentially submitted IPO filings since the JOBS Act was enacted in April 2012. That legislation said that companies with less than $1 billion in annual gross revenue during their most recent fiscal year could confidentially file draft IPO registration documents with the SEC (which would then provide feedback). Such companies still must file publicly if they go through with an IPO.
