WeWork has taken an additional step in expanding its education arm by acquiring MissionU, a one-year vocational bootcamp that teaches students a variety of skills so they can land a well-paying job.

Bigger picture: This acquisition is part of WeWork's larger education ambitions. Last year it unveiled WeGrow, which MissionU founder Adam Braun is joining as COO, a new undertaking to open an elementary school inspired by approaches like the Montessori system. WeWork has also acquired a coding bootcamp, New York City-based Flatiron School, though it's not part of WeGrow.

The intrigue: WeWork isn't disclosing a price, but it's an all-stock deal, according to a source. MissionU has raised $11.5 million in total funding from investors like FirstMark Capital, Floodgate, BoxGroup, Learn Capital, First Round Capital and John Doerr.
