The White House confirmed Thursday that President Trump will meet with Vladimir Putin next week on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany. National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster said of the meeting, "our relationship with Russia is not different from our relationship with any other country," so Trump will meet with Putin as he would with any other world leader.

  • Economic advisor Gary Cohn on whether Trump will raise election meddling: "We don't have an agenda set up right now."
  • McMaster said Trump would "confront Russia's destabilizing behavior" during the summit.
  • This will be Trump's first meeting with Putin since taking office.

Texas AG sues Biden administration over deportation freeze

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing the Biden administration in federal district court over its 100-day freeze on deporting unauthorized immigrants, and he's asking for a temporary restraining order.

Between the lines: The freeze went into effect Friday, temporarily halting most immigration enforcement in the U.S. In the lawsuit, Paxton claims the move "violates the U.S. Constitution, federal immigration and administrative law, and a contractual agreement between Texas" and the Department of Homeland Security.
