Trump tells McConnell how to run the Senate
Why it matters: This is the president telling Mitch McConnell to take the "nuclear option" to its full conclusion, ending the practice of requiring 60 votes to pass legislation through the Senate. McConnell doesn't want to do that, as he's already extended the nuclear option to Supreme Court nominees.
Why it doesn't matter: Republicans are already planning to pass health care and tax cut bills with 51 votes, using a Senate rule known as reconciliation. And McConnell is already having enough trouble finding 51 votes for health care.
