Top officials urge Trump to drop Iraq from travel ban

Some of President Trump's most prominent foreign policy advisors have encouraged him to remove Iraq from his revised travel ban executive order due to the country's role in the fight against the Islamic State, per CNN.
Who made the ask: Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Secretary of Defense James Mattis, National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster, and Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly
It's still unclear if Trump is going to take their advice. The revised order had been expected today, but was pushed back to "have its own moment" following the positive reception to Trump's speech last night. CNN's sources note that his new executive order will make clear that legal permanent residents and visa holders will be exempt from the ban — and that the earlier executive order is likely to be revoked.
