TaskRabbit app, site down during hack investigation

TaskRabbit, the service that lets customers book a handyman or help with tasks, has taken its app and website offline while it investigates a possible hack.

Why it matters: TaskRabbit, which Ikea acquired last year, is only the latest company to face a possible data breach — something experts say every organization should assume will happen at some point. Earlier on Monday, the company sent an email to its customers advising them to change their passwords while it investigates the incident, according to CNET.
