Six gunshots were fired from a vehicle at the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, Turkey, on Monday, striking a gate and window but causing no casualties, reports the AP.
The big picture: The apparent attack on the embassy comes amid escalating tensions between Ankara and Washington over the detainment of American pastor Andrew Brunson, which has contributed to the recent free fall of Turkey's currency.
