7 die after massive fight at South Carolina prison

Seven inmates were killed and 17 others needed medical attention after an hours-long fight between prisoners at Lee Correctional Institution, a maximum security prison in Columbia, South Carolina, reports the Associated Press. The prison, which houses "some of South Carolina’s most violent and longest-serving offenders," has had multiple prior incidents resulting in inmate casualties including one in February earlier this year, reports the State.
