The Senate is considering legislation that would make it easier for veterans to seek care outside of VA hospitals and clinics, Modern Healthcare reports.
Why it matters: Critics contend this would lead to the privatization of the VA health system. Concerned Veterans for America, a group funded by conservative billionaires Charles and David Koch, has supported the measure, and Modern Healthcare reports that the White House also lobbied senators heavily to get behind it.
