Pruitt had aide search for apartment on her personal time
Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt told lawmakers during a Senate budget hearing that he had aide Millan Hupp search for apartment rentals for Pruitt last summer without paying her, reports the Washington Post.
Why it matters: As a federal official, Pruitt is forbidden by law to receive free services from his subordinates. "That's a gift, that's a violation of federal law," Senator Tom Udall told Pruitt. Hupp used a personal email and phone to conduct the search.
