An internal poll conducted by the pro-Trump nonprofit America First Policies shows that 68% of Americans are not satisfied with the current federal income tax system — up from 61% one month ago. The survey of 1,200 voters also reveals 83% of respondents blame issues with the system on "special interests and the D.C. Swamp."
Between the lines: The results suggest that tax reform, and Trump's populist pitch to go with it, will resonate with the president's base. But the GOP's framework on tax reform only cuts rates and has yet to detail a complete, Reagan-era overhaul of the federal tax code.
