The suspect behind the Port Authority explosion this morning in NYC is injured and in custody, and the NYPD is "conducting an investigation" into whether this was a terror-related incident, NYPD spokesman Sgt. Lee Jones told Axios. The device used may have been a pipe bomb, Jones said.
The NYPD would not confirm reports that the suspect has ties to ISIS or to Bangladesh. Those reports were first made by former NYPD commissioner Bill Bratton on MSNBC.
