NBC: nothing 'truly significant' found in Yemen raid
No actionable intelligence has resulted from a raid in Yemen that claimed the life of a Navy SEAL, officials have told NBC News. Here's what Donald Trump said about the raid last night in his address to Congress: "I just spoke to General Mattis who reconfirmed that, and I quote, 'Ryan was a part of a highly successful raid that generated large amounts of vital intelligence that will lead to many more victories in the future against our enemies.'"Ten administration officials now say the cell phones and laptops recovered during the Jan. 29 raid have not yielded anything "truly significant."Senior Chief William "Ryan" Owens and numerous civilians were killed during the raid, and Owens' father has demanded an investigation. Ryan's widow Carryn Owens received a prolonged ovation after the president praised his sacrifice.
