Trump's tweets come after widespread protests across the NFL on Sunday, following the president's call for those who demonstrate during the national anthem to be fired or suspended.
The University of North Carolina's championship-winning men's basketball team has announced it will not be visiting the White House, citing a scheduling issue, while Golden State Warrior's star Stephen Curry responded to President Trump's tweet revoking his invitation to the White House (after Curry had already said he wouldn't attend):
"I don't know why he feels the need to target certain individuals rather than other. I have an idea of why, but it's kind of beneath the leader of a country to go that route. It's not what leaders do."
