Microsoft earnings up on Office subscriptions

Microsoft said its Office 365 subscriptions increased by 1 million in the last three months of 2017, as it shifts from operating systems to software services. Office revenue was up 10% and the cloud services business was up 8%. Total revenue was up 1%, to $24 billion. LinkedIn which Microsoft bought last year for $26 billion, contributed $228 million in revenue, but only in December after the deal closed.
