John Oliver's team at "Last Week Tonight" wrote a TV commercial for the Zumbrota Ford dealership, located between the Twin Cities and Rochester.
Quick take: It's funny and the Minnesota accents are thick.
Backstory: Oliver found out that several car dealerships around the country were running similar ads using a pickle costume and some variation of being in a pickle and needing a car.
- Wanting some originality, Oliver's team wrote a commercial for Zumbrota Ford about a couple getting divorced over a minivan. The dealership played along.
The ad is airing this week on Zumbrota-area TV stations, Oliver said.
