๐Ÿ“ธ S.A. snaphots: Getting Fiesta fancy

Let's get this party crackin'. Photo: Madalyn Mendoza/Axios

๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ Madalyn here to share a view that gets my Fiesta-loving heart all warm and fuzzy: Amols' Party and Fiesta Favors.

The vibe: Around this time, the aisles of Amols' are stocked with brightly colored party essentials, from flower crowns to piรฑatas, and party people flocking to restock their inventory.

Reality check: While the store is usually packed, it's not a very stressful shopping experience, because it's hard to be anything but excited when you're buying for the bash.

Flashback: Amols' opened on what is now known as the St. Mary's Strip in 1949. It's been a San Antonio institution ever since.

  • Growing up, I always knew Fiesta was near when my mom or grandma would make a stop at Amols' to pick up decorations for the house or to complete my Fiesta 'fits.
  • The nostalgic, bright feeling it gives me is probably akin to the sentiment Christmophiles get from Santa stores.

The bottom line: Get to Amols' soon.
