It's Girl Scout cookie season

Girl Scout cookies have arrived in San Antonio.

What's happening: The Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas began cookie sales last week.

Why it matters: The program teaches girls financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills, and proceeds stay local.

Some upcoming sales include:

• Gathering Brewing, 210 E. Aviation Boulevard in Universal City, 5-9pm Friday
• Daniel's Cafe, 5008 S. Presa Street, 10am-12pm Saturday
• Alamo Ranch Food Park, 5615 Lone Star Parkway, 6-8pm Saturday
• H-E-B, 2118 Fredericksburg Road, 10am-6pm Sunday

Of note: Prices remain the same as last year at $5 per box.
