Pharrell Williams, a Grammy award-winning singer from Virginia Beach, has a documentary coming out about his life told through a Lego version of him.

Why it matters: We like to think the trailer that dropped last week duped some Richmonders into thinking this is the movie he's been filming here these past few months, which is also based on his life.

But alas, the animated biopic "Piece by Piece" doesn't feature real people in the traditional sense.

  • It does, however, include the voices of Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, Timbaland and Gwen Stefani — all of whom show up as Lego pieces of themselves.

Fun fact: Pharrell produced, co-wrote and was featured in "Drop It Like It's Hot" by Snoop Dogg in 2009, a moment that'll be shown in the Lego movie, per the trailer.

What's next: It comes out in theaters Oct. 11.
