Whether Arizona matters in the presidential primaries may depend largely on what happens in today's Super Tuesday voting.

Yes, but: Whatever happens, even if we're not influencing the Republican nomination, we're still having an effect on the money race.

By the numbers: Former President Donald Trump raised more money from Arizonans for this year than any other candidate.

  • The $2.1 million he got from the Grand Canyon state is double his nearest competitors.
  • President Biden and Nikki Haley each raised a little over $1 million from Arizona.
  • Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. raised nearly $450,000 locally.

Of note: The numbers don't include contributions of less than $200, which don't have to be reported individually.

What's next: Early voting began in Arizona's Presidential Preference Election on Feb. 21, and Election Day is March 19.
