The Philadelphia Runner in Manayunk is back to in-person operations after a seven-week closure.

Why it matters: The independent running company, which has four other locations, serves as a hub for runners.

State of play: The store at 4358 Main Street had been shuttered since early September after sustaining significant damage during Hurricane Ida.

  • The store's stockroom — located in the basement — completely flooded during storm, store manager Michael Zabrodski told Mike this week.
  • "I don't think it was ever a thought to throw in the towel and be done," he said.

Zoom out: The remnants of Ida caused at least $23 million in damages to Manayunk businesses, depressing foot traffic and forcing several temporary closures.
